The President of the Supreme Council of Resistance meets with the French Ambassador

The President of the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance meets with the French Ambassador, and praises France's position in support of Yemen

 The Chairman of the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance, Sheikh Hamoud Saeed Al-Mikhlafi, met today with the Ambassador of the French Republic to Yemen, Catherine Cormeaux, as part of the Ambassador’s keenness to communicate with the main actors in Yemen.

 During the meeting, the President of the Supreme Council of Resistance exchanged conversations with the Ambassador about the current developments on the Yemeni scene, and expressed his appreciation for the vital role played by the Ambassador at the political level and the impact of her intense field activity in activating channels of cooperation and economic and humanitarian support for the benefit of the Yemeni people at this important stage in Yemen’s history.

 For her part, the French Ambassador to Yemen, Catherine Corm Cammon, affirmed France's clear position on Yemen's unity, security and stability, its strong stance towards the legitimate Yemeni government, and its keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. She reiterated her country's clear position on condemning the Houthis' behavior that obstructs peace in Yemen.

 The discussion touched on the positive developments related to the opening of roads, and the two parties agreed on the importance of this step, regardless of the explanations related to its motives, and even though it was long delayed and there was no justification for closing the roads to the movement of residents and affecting their daily life and economic activities.

 The meeting was an opportunity to learn about the political program of the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance, which is integrated in all its components with the national project, and aims to strengthen the constitutional position of the legitimate authority and support its negotiating position based on the constants of the Yemeni state and recognized references, in addition to that the political program of the Council stems from the principle of defending  National gains in the face of the threats posed by projects hostile to the Yemeni state and its political identity.

 The meeting touched on the activities of the humanitarian institutions affiliated with the Supreme Council of Resistance, especially in Taiz Governorate, and the level of services provided by these institutions. The importance of France playing a more vital role in this aspect was emphasized, in light of full understanding of this matter on the part of the ambassador, who expressed her admiration for the inspiring experience.  For the Taiz community in light of the war, especially in the educational field.
