Women's Department of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance: Strengthening Women's Participation in Resistance Action is a National Necessity

During a workshop held today, the Women's Department of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance emphasized the importance of expanding women's participation in resistance action and strengthening their role in various resistance committees at the national level.


The workshop, attended by the President of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance, Sheikh Hamoud Saeed Al-Mikhlafi, and Secretary-General, Mr. Mohammed Azzam, witnessed extensive discussions on unifying women's efforts, supporting the goals of the resistance, and effectively integrating them into all levels of national resistance work.


In his speech, Council President, Sheikh Hamoud Saeed Al-Mikhlafi, emphasized that women not only constitute half of society, but are also essential partners in the national struggle. He noted that their sacrifices and courage are a source of inspiration for all those seeking to defeat the coup and restore the will of the Yemeni people.


Secretary-General, Mr. Mohammed Azzam, spoke about the prominent historical role of Yemeni women throughout the various stages of national history, highlighting their contributions to the revolutions and political and social transformations that the country has witnessed.  Emphasizing that women were not merely witnesses to the events, but were active and influential from the very first moment the popular resistance against the Houthi coup began.


For their part, Dr. Nabila Saeed, Head of the Women's Sector in the Supreme Leadership Council, Ms. Osan Mohammed Saeed, Head of the Women's Department, and Ms. Iman Al-Nahari, Coordinator of the Department, delivered speeches in which they emphasized the pioneering role of women in the national struggle and the need to strengthen their active presence in all areas of resistance. They also highlighted the most prominent challenges facing Yemeni women and ways to empower them to contribute effectively at the societal, political, and media levels.


The heads of the women's committees in the popular resistance councils in the governorates also delivered remarks. They addressed the reality of women's work and the needs of the next phase, as well as proposals for activating the committees' activities in line with the developments in the current situation.


The heads of the women's committees emphasized that the resistance's mission is not limited to the military front, but also includes enhancing collective and intellectual awareness and organizing awareness campaigns to instill national principles and the goals of the resistance among new generations.


 The participants emphasized the importance of commemorating the 63rd anniversary of the glorious September 26 Revolution, emphasizing that the continuation of popular resistance today is an extension of the noble goals of the September 26 Revolution.
