Yemen – Exclusive :
In its regular meeting, the Political Bureau of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance reviewed current developments in Yemen. This was in light of the significant achievements made in stabilizing the national currency and the resulting improvement in the prices of basic commodities. This was in addition to the strong and unprecedented international support for the efforts and policies of the Central Bank of Yemen, and the punitive measures targeting the coup militia, most notably the withdrawal of international organizations from areas controlled by this militia following the violations committed against its employees.
The Bureau noted a noticeable lack of consistency between these achievements and the improvement in the political environment, the supposed increase in the influence of the legitimate authority, and its increased ability to achieve the goals of restoring state influence. This is in light of the continued stalemate and the continued clear fragmentation of the structure of the legitimate authority, which is being contested by internal and external wills, pushing it toward the unknown.
The body cited clear examples of the worrying developments in Hadhramaut Governorate, which is witnessing the emergence of armed formations such as the "Security Support Forces," illegally affiliated with the Hadhrami Elite Forces, and the "Hadhramaut Protection Forces," affiliated with the Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance.
The Political Body warned that this worrying security development will fuel conflict, undermine security in the governorate, and perpetuate the general failure of the executive performance of both the local and legitimate authorities.
The Political Body discussed, as part of its agenda, efforts to engage in political communication with state authorities, as part of building common understandings on the requirements of the next phase. It also discussed arrangements related to meetings and visits the Political Body plans to conduct over the next few days with a number of international bodies, missions, and countries, building on its previous efforts in this area.
