Sheikh Hamoud Saeed Al-Mikhlafi, head of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance, met via video conference with the Japanese Ambassador to Yemen, Yoichi Nakashima, in the presence of several members of the Supreme Council's leadership and the leadership of the Council's political body. This meeting is part of the meetings held with heads of diplomatic missions and reflects Ambassador Nakashima's keenness to communicate with the Yemeni parties and gain a closer understanding of the details of the Yemeni situation, especially in light of current developments.

During the meeting, the head of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance expressed his high appreciation for the positive stance of the Japanese government and people in support of the Yemeni people and the ongoing economic and development support they provide to the Yemeni people.

The meeting participants reviewed the role played by the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance at the field, political, and humanitarian levels, and provided examples of its roles, particularly those related to the humanitarian needs resulting from the war.

They expressed their hope that Japan, as a major global power, would play a significant role in mobilizing efforts to achieve peace in Yemen and adopting realistic approaches to the challenges posed by the rebellion against the legitimate authority. This is in light of the coup plotters' continued adherence to the option of war, which is taking on dangerous dimensions in light of the US strikes. This calls for supporting the legitimate authority and enabling it to regain its constitutional influence throughout the country.

Ambassador Yakashima expressed his pleasure at the meeting and the important information presented. He expressed his country's government's interest in the urgent needs of the Yemeni people under the current circumstances, and his desire to examine these needs on the ground, especially in the governorates most affected by the war, such as Ma'rib, Aden, and Taiz.
