Taiz: Launch of the Youth Department of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance... and a meeting with party youth discusses joint coordination

The Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance launched the Youth Department in its General Secretariat, an organizational step that reflects the Council's interest in the role of the most vital segment of society and in mobilizing its energies to serve national and societal issues.

At the launch, held at the headquarters of the Council's General Secretariat in Taiz, and attended by members of the Department's Executive Committee, Mr. Mohammed Azzam, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance, emphasized that the establishment of the Youth Department responds to the aspirations of this segment, who have been and continue to be at the forefront of the struggle. He emphasized the importance of empowering them and providing spaces that enhance their national and societal contributions.

Azzam added that the future of Yemen is linked to the role of youth, as they are the founding generation of the desired Yemen. He called for strengthening national alignment, supporting the national army and the popular resistance, strengthening the popular incubator, and promoting social solidarity.

 For his part, Majid Ahmed, Coordinator of the Youth Department, emphasized that the launch was not merely an administrative procedure, but rather a pledge that the department would be the voice and platform of youth, with clear visions and effective and influential programs. He noted that the department would work on institutional building, forming youth teams in various governorates, launching training programs for rehabilitation and empowerment, and fostering initiatives and empowering youth entities to work under the umbrella of the Supreme Council.

He explained that youth have always been the vanguard and supporter of major historical events, from the September and October Revolutions, to the February Revolution, and up to the confrontation with the coup militias. He emphasized that they are the ones who will be counted on to achieve victory and restore the state, peace, and development.

For their part, participants in the launch presented various visions and ideas regarding the role of youth in the next phase, emphasizing that the launch of the Youth Department is a strategic step to consolidate the vital role of this group, which represents the true strength of societies.

In another context, Coordinator of the Youth Department Majid Ahmed met with youth representatives from several political parties in Taiz at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance.

 The attendees emphasized that the popular resistance is the core of the national army and its supporter. Without its heroism and sacrifices, citizens would not have enjoyed freedom of expression and action in the city of Taiz.

They emphasized the importance of coordination between the Youth Department and the youth of the political parties, noting that the solidarity of the parties following the outbreak of the popular resistance in Taiz was a key factor in its success.

They also called for the continuation of the joint security campaign to pursue and apprehend all those involved in the assassination of the martyr Iftihan Al-Mashhari, and to bring them to justice so they can receive their deterrent punishment.
