Yemen: Special
The Political Bureau of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance held its regular meeting, chaired by Abdul Karim Al-Aslami, its Chairman and Member of Parliament. During the meeting, the Bureau discussed several items related to its political activity and its communications with domestic and foreign political actors within the framework of the resistance's general agenda, which revolves around defeating the Houthi coup and restoring the state.
The meeting also reviewed in detail the agenda of upcoming meetings with the British Advanced Thinking Foundation, one of the most important research institutions concerned with the impact of policies on international conflicts. This meeting will provide an important opportunity to learn about the national role of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance and its political vision regarding the possibilities of ending the war based on full respect for the will of the Yemeni people and their established national principles.
The Political Bureau of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance also discussed the events to be held to mark the sixty-third anniversary of the immortal September 26 Revolution, in a manner befitting the solemnity of the occasion and its founding role in establishing the republican system and ending the era of priesthood, backwardness, and isolation.
On this occasion, the Political Bureau, in the name of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance, saluted the great Yemeni people and called on them to strengthen their faith in the sanctity of this revolution, as the mother of all revolutions that changed the course of contemporary Yemeni history, ushering in an era of freedom, dignity, and popular rule. It unleashed Yemenis to build a new era in their history, ending the heavy legacy of imamate and colonialism, and paving the way toward restoring Yemen's historical status as a land and a people.
The Authority stressed the importance of continuing the struggle and not losing direction, recalling the Presidential Leadership Council's historical responsibility to fulfill the right to restore the state, mobilizing all efforts and capabilities to achieve this goal, and avoiding political practices that lack wisdom and prudence and contradict the accepted traditions of managing state affairs and leading society in these exceptionally dangerous circumstances.
The Authority expressed its outrage over the serious repercussions of the Zionist airstrikes that targeted the heart of the capital, Sana'a, causing a large number of civilian casualties. This reflects the criminal nature of this entity, its arrogance, and its disregard for civilian objects and international humanitarian law. The Authority considered that the Houthi militia has become accustomed to sacrificing people and national resources, deepening the humanitarian wound and catastrophe resulting from the war it unleashed against the Yemeni people since the summer of 2014, which ended the most important and successful political transition the country has witnessed.
The Political Bureau of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance in Yemen reiterated its condemnation of the treacherous Zionist crime that targeted, on the ninth of this month, a residential headquarters of Palestinian resistance leaders in Doha. This attack violated the sovereignty of a state working with all its might to end the war in Gaza, amid widespread international consensus and appreciation for this role.
The Political Bureau of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance called on the extraordinary Arab and Islamic summit, to be held in Doha on Monday, to adopt practical measures to confront Zionist arrogance, relying on the combined capabilities of these countries, and putting an end to the serious threats to their security and sovereignty.
