Marib: Academics confirm that resistance is the remaining option for Yemenis to restore their state

A number of academics stressed in a meeting organized by the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance in Marib Governorate that the resistance option has become the last option for the Yemenis to defeat the coup and restore the state, and that the last ten years have consolidated the convictions of the necessity of self-reliance and enabling the Yemeni people to regain the initiative in defending their options and principles.  .

In the meeting, Sheikh Hammoud Saeed Al-Mikhlafi, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance, spoke via video call, stressing that academics and intellectuals are the elite of societies and builders of the renaissance of countries, and they have the responsibility of creating awareness and protecting the nation from deviant and destructive ideas, expressing his happiness at the meeting with a group of academics in Marib, the area of civilization and history.

Sheikh Al-Mikhlafi added: The Houthi militia targeted Yemeni universities and is working to transform them from centers of enlightenment into hotbeds that spread myth and ignorance until they have become incubators for their racialist project.

Al-Mikhlafi explained that the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance established an expert unit that includes doctors, specialists and academics to be part of the council in the battle for liberation and building the Yemeni state.

For his part, Dr. Abdul Hamid Amer, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Popular Resistance, praised the role of academics as bearers of enlightenment and pioneers of renaissance for any nation and civilization, and on their shoulders lies the responsibility of promoting resistance thought and building conscious generations that carry the national cause and defend it.

He explained that the respect and appreciation that academics enjoy among the people doubles the responsibility that falls on them in the task of mobilizing society and directing it towards the best paths.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Azki, head of the Academics Syndicate, presented a working paper on the academic role in creating resistance awareness, in which he pointed to the militia’s destruction of universities and research centers, the transformation of curricula and research to glorify the racialist and the myth of the state, and the issuance of university degrees to its fighting members while they were on the front lines.

He pointed out that academics are the source of thought, culture, enlightenment, awareness, and the shapers of generations, and are present in the national battle and part of the resistance as thought and struggle.

A number of participants presented interventions that emphasized that popular resistance is a national option to restore the state, and the formation of the council came to embody the national project, unify the resistance ranks, and the state-building project, which falls within the tasks of experts and academics.
