Head of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance, Sheikh Hamoud al-Mikhlafi, on the September anniversary: Popular resistance is a stronghold of national gains
Yemen: Excutive
Sheikh Hamoud Saeed al-Mikhlafi, head of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance, affirmed in a speech marking the 63rd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution the resistance's commitment to defending the gains of the Republic and national unity, praising the heroic deeds of the Yemeni people from the outbreak of the revolution to the present day.
In his speech, Sheikh al-Mikhlafi noted that this commemoration comes amid the city of Taiz's grief over the loss of martyr Ifthan Mohammed al-Mashhari, one of the heroes of the battle to restore life. He prayed for mercy and forgiveness for her. He added, "Perhaps what will heal our city's wounds is bringing justice to the perpetrators of this heinous crime. Despite the setbacks that mar this achievement, and everyone knows who is standing in the way of our city's freedom and recovery, this does not dampen the resolve of the people of Taiz, amidst the insistence of their enemies to vent their deep-seated hatred with the aim of breaking the will of the city and its defenders at any cost. They will never succeed."
Al-Mikhlafi explained that the steps taken by the security and military services in Taiz Governorate, which resulted in the neutralization of the martyr's killer and the arrest of the suspects, demonstrate the competence of these services and their efforts to protect security and stability. He called for continued security campaigns to pursue the remaining perpetrators of similar crimes.
The head of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance called for continued security campaigns to pursue the remaining perpetrators of similar crimes and to settle property and home disputes to ensure peace in the city.
Al-Mikhlafi addressed the history of the September 26 Revolution, emphasizing that it was the result of great popular efforts and sacrifices and paved the way for the October 14 Revolution and confronted the challenges facing Yemeni unity. He praised the role of the popular resistance in protecting the gains of the republic and confronting coup, division, and imamate projects.
Sheikh Al-Mikhlafi pointed out that the political and military stalemate Yemen is experiencing today is a reality reinforced by the incompetence of the political elites and the inaction of the leadership, the deliberate exclusion of the option of armed struggle, and the reneging on promises to wage the decisive battle. He considered this reality to be opening the door to foreign intervention and placing the nation in a predicament, requiring the free people of Yemen to seriously consider finding solutions that protect their dignity and strengthen the position of their state.
He emphasized that the popular resistance and the national army remain a solid shield against any threats to the nation and the republic, and that the Yemeni people must remain united in the face of challenges. He recalled the determination and steadfastness on the battlefields of Taiz, Marib, Al-Jawf, Al-Dhale, Aden, and Saada.
Sheikh Al-Mikhlafi concluded his speech by emphasizing the Yemeni people's ability to overcome crises and escape the artificial state of deficit. He pointed to positive economic indicators and the improvement in the currency's value, and reiterated the resistance's commitment to defending the republic and unity until complete victory is achieved.
