Head of the Political Bureau oResistance Meets with the Political Affairs Officer at the British Embassy

The Head of the Political Bureau of the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance, Member of Parliament Abdul Karim Al-Aslami, met with a number of members of the Bureau, along with the Political Affairs Officer at the British Embassy to Yemen, Mr. Peter Dalby, and the Media Affairs and Public Diplomacy Officer at the Embassy, ​​Mr. Ross Mack.


During the meeting, they discussed developments in Yemen and ways to enhance communication between the Council and diplomatic bodies to serve peacemaking efforts. They also discussed the Council's contributions and humanitarian interventions to address the negative repercussions at all levels resulting from the terrorist Houthi coup and the war it has ignited for ten years.


During the meeting, the Head of the Political Bureau emphasized the importance of the communication the Supreme Council of the Popular Resistance is conducting with diplomatic bodies operating in Yemen, and its impact in exploring opportunities to achieve peace in Yemen and end the causes of the war, most notably the coup against the legitimate authority.  He emphasized the importance of the role played by Britain in international efforts to end the war in Yemen, and London's pivotal influence within the UN Security Council. He called for greater British efforts with the Yemeni parties to remove all obstacles hindering the continuation of peace-imposing efforts and restoring the state, particularly those that weaken the political, military, and economic position of the legitimate authority.


For his part, the British diplomatic official reiterated his country's support for the legitimate authority and expressed the British embassy's readiness to cooperate with the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance and work together to support and strengthen the position of the legitimate authority in a manner that serves peace efforts and restore stability to Yemen.
